G. Willow Wilson est une auteure américaine reconnue, née en Nouvelle-Jérsey le 31 août 1982. Elle a considérablement marqué le monde littéraire grâce à ses œuvres, qui comprennent des romans et des bandes dessinées. Ses écrits ont été récompensés par des prix prestigieux tels que le Hugo, le World Fantasy et les American Book Awards.
Wilson est sans doute plus connue pour son roman "The Bird King" (2019), ainsi que pour être la co-créatrice de la série Hugo et American Book Award-winning "Ms Marvel" (2013-2018). Elle a également contribué à certaines des séries de bandes dessinées de super-héros les plus populaires au monde, telles que "The X-Men", "Superman" et "Wonder Woman". Son écriture a été saluée pour son originalité et son innovation, ce qui lui a valu le prix de l'innovateur en littérature graphique aux PEN America Literary Awards en 2015.
Outre son travail dans les bandes dessinées et les romans, le premier roman de Wilson, "Alif the Unseen", a remporté le prix World Fantasy du meilleur roman en 2013 et a été finaliste pour le prix du premier roman du Center For Fiction, ainsi que pour le Women’s Prize for Fiction. Ses écrits ont été traduits en plus d'une dizaine de langues, témoignant de son attrait mondial.
Malgré ses nombreux succès, Wilson reste humble et abordable, souvent présente sur Twitter, bien qu'elle ne soit pas très active sur la plateforme pour le moment. Elle a un sens de l'humour sec et une auto-dérision qui ont conquis de nombreux fans. Elle vit actuellement à Seattle, où elle continue d'écrire et de créer des histoires captivantes qui résonnent auprès des lecteurs du monde entier.
