Heidi Rice est une autrice à succès de fictions romantiques, originaire de Londres, en Angleterre. Elle est mariée et a deux enfants, ce qui, selon elle, lui donne des insights sur la psyché masculine. Rice adore son métier car il lui permet de s'évader dans un monde à hautes émotions, à excitations sensuelles, de femmes drôles et effrontées, d'hommes séduisants et tourmentés, et de lieux glamour. Néanmoins, elle reste également ancrée dans la réalité et consacre son temps libre à effectuer des tâches ménagères et à s'occuper de sa famille.
La première passion de Rice était le cinéma, ce qui l'a menée à son premier emploi en tant que journaliste de films. Après des années à s'esquiver pour lire des romans d'amour alors qu'elle était supposée regarder des films, elle a décidé d'essayer d'écrire un roman elle-même. Son premier livre, Bedded by a Bad Boy, a été publié par Harlequin Mills & Boon en 2007. Depuis, elle a écrit et publié une quarantaine de romans, novellas et histoires courtes. Elle a été finaliste pour le RITA award à trois reprises, a vu son travail traduit en plus de vingt langues, est devenue une USA Today bestseller, et a vendu plus de trois millions d'exemplaires de ses livres dans le monde entier.
Rice est connue pour son amour du genre romantique et sa croyance en la fourniture de critiques honnêtes et ouvertes. Néanmoins, elle préfère ne pas publier de critiques de livres qu'elle n'a pas appréciés, optant plutôt pour "propager l'amour parmi d'autres auteurs". En 2022, elle est particulièrement enthousiaste pour les quatre romans Harlequin Presents/Mills & Boon Modern à venir, ainsi que la réédition de son premier roman de fiction féminine à longueur entière, So Now You're Back, et One Summer in Notting Hill, un autre roman à longueur entière avec One More Chapter. Malgré son emploi du temps d'écriture chargé, elle continue de vivre à Londres avec son mari et ses deux fils, et reste reconnaissante pour l'opportunité de vivre dans un monde à hautes émotions, excitations sensuelles, et lieux glamour, même si c'est seulement dans son imagination.
