Kenneth Robeson » est un nom de plume utilisé par les éditions Street and Smith Publications pour leur série à succès mettant en scène les personnages Doc Savage et The Avenger. Ce pseudonyme figurait sur les couvertures des magazines et des livres présentant ces personnages, offrant une identité d'auteur cohérente pour les récits d'aventure.
La majorité des histoires de Doc Savage ont été écrites par l'auteur Lester Dent. Il était un écrivain prolifique qui a contribué à plus de 150 histoires à la série. Le style d'écriture et les idées de intrigue de Dent sont devenues synonymes du personnage de Doc Savage, en faisant le vrai cerveau derrière la série. Cependant, d'autres écrivains ont également contribué à la série, notamment William G. Bogart, Evelyn Coulson, Harold A. Davis, Lawrence Donovan, Philip Jose Farmer, Alan Hathaway, W. Ryerson Johnson et Will Murray.
La série The Avenger a également été écrite sous le nom de plume Kenneth Robeson, avec tous les 24 histoires originales écrites par Paul Ernst. Pour stimuler les ventes, la couverture du magazine The Avenger a attribué à Robeson la création de Doc Savage, bien que Lester Dent n'ait eu aucun lien avec la série The Avenger. Dans les années 1970, lorsque la série a été prolongée avec 12 romans supplémentaires, Ron Goulart a été embauché pour écrire de nouvelles histoires en tant que Robeson présentant The Avenger. Dans les années 1990, Philip José Farmer a écrit une nouvelle aventure de Doc Savage, mais elle a été publiée sous son propre nom et non par Robeson. Will Murray a depuis repris le pseudonyme et a continué à écrire des livres Doc Savage en tant que Robeson.
