Tom Wolfe

Thomas Kennerly Wolfe, plus connu sous le nom de Tom Wolfe, était un auteur et journaliste américain de renom, né le 2 mars 1930 à Richmond, en Virginie, aux États-Unis. Il a été un personnage clé du mouvement du New Journalism, qui a combiné des techniques littéraires avec le journalisme, et est également connu pour avoir forgé le terme "fiction-absolute".

Wolfe a commencé sa carrière de journaliste en tant que reporter pour un petit journal régional durant les années 1950, atteignant finalement une renommée nationale avec la publication de ses livres best-sellers au cours de la décennie suivante. Son écriture s'est souvent plongée dans les arcanes du fonctionnement de l'esprit humain, se concentrant sur les décisions inconscientes et les excentricités du comportement et du langage. L'attention de Wolfe à ces aspects de la nature humaine, ainsi que son exploration du statut social, sont considérées comme inégalées en littérature américaine.
