Wayne Kyle Spitzer est un auteur et réalisateur de films d'horreur à petit budget américain, né le 15 juillet 1966 à Spokane, Washington. Ses écrits et ses films relèvent souvent des genres de l'horreur et de la science-fiction, son premier long métrage étant le court métrage d'horreur "Shadows in the Garden". En plus de son travail de genre, Spitzer a également publié des pièces non genrées dans subTerrain Magazine: Strong Words for a Polite Nation et Columbia: The Magazine of Northwest History.
Les œuvres écrites de Spitzer sont à la fois prolifiques et variées, son premier ouvrage majeur étant le roman d'horreur/science-fiction "Flashback" en 1993. Plus récemment, il a achevé The Ferryman Pentalogy, une série de cinq romans interconnectés composée de "Comes a Ferryman", "The Tempter and the Taker", "The Pierced Veil", "Black Hole, White Fountain" et "To the End of Ursathrax". Cette série met en valeur la capacité de Spitzer à créer des mondes immersifs et des récits complexes. De plus, il a écrit The X-Ray Rider Trilogy, une série de romans de science-fiction, et a adapté "The Willows" d'Algernon Blackwood en scénario, démontrant ainsi sa polyvalence en tant qu'écrivain.
